Conbook Submission Guidelines
Any material for possible inclusion in the Amecon conbook should be submitted by the 1st of June. All submissions are welcome and will be considered, but should not have been published prior to Amecon 08 either online or in hardcopy. We only have so much space so please don't be disappointed if your work is not published. In the first instance, to help avoid disappointment please contact the Editor with your ideas, or, in the case of artwork you can submit sketches or links to previous examples of your work. Submissions will be selected based on suitability and quality.
By submitting content for consideration, you are giving Amecon permission to publish this work in its conbook and in any other convention-related contexts, including but not limited to online publication, on-screen publication at conventions, or publication in other convention materials or subsequent conbooks. Copyright for all submissions remains the property of the creator and where possible, the convention committee will seek permission from the original author before republication of the work.
All submissions will be credited to their creators
Front Cover
This year we are looking for pictures of our mascot Amechan as a Space Girl for the front cover of the conbook, Lets see some
great sci-fi inspired artwork! The best submission will be published on the front of this years conbook!! With runners up on
the inside and back covers.
Submissions for the cover art should be colour and at least 300dpi.
Article Guidelines
All articles should be submitted to the conbook editor (email address available on contact page). If this posses difficulties
please contact the editor at the above address to discuss other arrangements.
Articles should be no larger than 1500 words, consider something that will fit onto 2-4 A5 pages with formatting ideal. If you have specific layout/format/picture requirements please discuss these with the editor. In all other circumstances articles should be submitted as a Word or Text file and will be formatted by the Editor. Please bear in mind that the Editor reserves the right to amend, add or remove content for suitability, grammar, spelling and humour! Suitable articles include anything related to Anime, Manga, Japan, Japanese culture and fandom. If you have ideas for anime themed word games, trivia, quizzes or the like these are also welcome.
Artwork Guidelines
Again, all artwork submissions are welcome, from full page art to character pieces and short comic strips or gag panels. Light hearted
'fun' images are preferred as are interpretations of the Amecon mascot characters. Both original character artwork and fanart is welcome.
In the first instance please submit artwork either in a compressed format and no larger than 200kb to the conbook editior (email address available on contact page), or point me at a link for consideration. If your work is likely to be used the Editor will request a high-resolution copy of the work of at least 300dpi in a non-lossy compression format (ideally TGA or TIFF).
