AmeCon Keele Uni, 10th - 12th August 2012

What is AmeCon?

AmeCon is a longstanding UK based convention dedicated to Japanese Anime and Manga, run by fans, for the fans.

Each AmeCon runs for 3 days and is crammed full of great events of all flavours, from cosplay workshops and masquerades, attendee run panels and guests, all the way to fan run skits in the AmeCon Omake.

Every evening we round up with a party, so after you've had a day of geeking out, you can have a drink and dance the night away.

But don't take our word for it, why not join us on the forum or social media? You'll find plenty of friendly like-minded AmeCon regulars to interact with.

You can also find us on Facebook, Twitter and Google Plus.

So what is AmeChibi?

In Spring 2015 our first AmeChibi will be running and it will be a little different. We're still AmeCon, and we're still dedicated to Japanese Anime and Manga. AmeChibi brings all you expect from AmeCon but the smaller size means a cosier venue, with less of that pesky walking around! So a smaller event, still jam packed with awesome panels, parties and people awaits!

EuroCosplay Qualifier Event

Amecon is proud to announce that we will be selecting one of England’s best cosplayers to represent our country in this years EuroCosplay Championships.

To take part you just need to sign up to the cosplay competition and enter the Catwalk event with your competition costume. Check out the rules and guidelines for more information.

EuroCosplay is a celebration of cosplay across Europe, an amazing opportunity to meet, make friends with and compete with some of the best cosplayers from all over the world. In 2011 cosplayers from 22 different countries where selected at local events to travel to London for the October MCM Expo and EuroCosplay Championship and represent their countries. In 2012 you could too!

EuroCosplay is a solo competition that focuses on your costume instead of your performance so it’s a real chance for anyone who makes amazing costumes to inspire and amaze your fellow cosplayers. We also want you to show off what is great about cosplay in your country however.

If you qualify, we transport you and your costume to London for the weekend where you have full access to all the London MCM Expo events and exclusive EuroCosplay parties as a guest. On the Saturday you get to meet a panel of top international cosplayers (past judges include Japan’s Goldy, America’s Jia Jem and Brazils Pandy) who will discuss your costume with you before you go onto perform on the MCM Expo’s Theater Stage. We live stream the stage show over the internet too so nobody misses out.

You can find up to date information on qualifying events and cosplayers on the EuroCosplay Facebook page so why not come and say hi!
